News: In 2024 the Texas Bar's employees gave themselves a dues increase without even consulting the (still compulsory) regular members, much less obtaining their approval...

The Texas Bar's membership increased approximately 7% since 2015-2016 through 2020.
Meanwhile, its budget increased around 16% during that time.
Inflation was around 9.4% between 2015 and 2020, according to USInflationCalculator.com.

FYI:
Salaries at the Texas Bar...

Particularly noteworthy (and vaguely listed) budget items for 2020-21:

“Administrative”:  $2.35 million dollars
“Board Commitments” $2.125 million dollars
“Meetings & Conferences”   $5.27 million dollars
“Publicity / Advertising” $987,078 dollars
Salaries & Benefits” $28 million dollars
“Travel”  $2.4 million dollars

Where does all that money for "travel", "administrative", "board commitments", "publicity" and "meetings" actually go? The Texas Bar's budget apparently doesn't disclose that, does it? Slush funds? For whom?

Embezzlement issues at the State Bar of Texas...

Why doesn't the Texas Bar finally launch an externally operated whistleblower program that
confidentially awards monetary prizes to whomever uncovers fraud, waste & abuse underway
(or previously committed) at (or by) the Texas Bar? For example, where does the Texas Bar's
$55 million dollar annual budget really go? Meanwhile, please feel free to enjoy this recent report
about the SEC's whistleblower program:
